To authorise expenditure of up to £29,000 for the provision of a Garden Room (wooden or brick) with refreshment facilities, on the patio area.

Background

As the Clubhouse is being hired by community groups during the day, bringing in about £17,000 annually, the committee have been looking at alternative arrangements for members to meet in a warm enclosed area and be able to have a cup of tea or coffee. The proposal is that the pergola on the patio area is moved (if possible) to the hedging area behind court 5 and a garden room constructed/built onto the patio. The options of garden room are a wooden framed building which will cost circa £15,000 or a cedar clad brick building  which will cost circa £27,000. The spend approved will need a contingency of circa £2,000 for any unknown extras – so £17,000 or £29,000 depending on which option is chosen.
