The Committe has learnt of the sad passing of John Bishop who was a life member of the club. John was Chairman of the club in 1967/68 and again in 1978/79 and was was part of the committe who negotiated the purchase of the grounds in the mid 1970’s from the previous owner who wanted to develop the land by building flats. John  gifted funds to the club to ensure the purchase could be completed instead of the land being developed into flats.

Captain of the second team for many seasons he gave a lot of juniors their first opprotunity of team tennis and was a well respected memeer of the club. Laterly, John and his wife moved south to be nearer their children and grand children,
